To provide an excellent stacked photoelectric converter which increases the conversion efficiency as well as remarkably reducing a problem such as photodegradation.
The stacked photoelectric converter has such a structure that a color sensitizing photoelectric converter 2 which performs photoelectric conversion by a sensitizing action of pigments, and a thin-film photoelectric converter 3 including an amorphous semiconductor layer which performs photoelectric conversion, are stacked in this order on a principal plane of a conductive substrate 11 into which light is incident from the principal plane side. Due to this structure, photoelectric conversion of light having short wavelengths is effectively performed by the thin-film photoelectric converter 3, photoelectric conversion of light having long wavelengths is effectively performed by the color sensitizing photoelectric converter 2, and the combined conversion efficiencies of both photoelectric converters is the conversion efficiency of the stacked photoelectric converter.
