To provide a stacking device capable of preventing a loaded sheet material from being corrugated.
This stacking device comprises a loading part for loading a sheet material on a predetermined stacking surface, a back stopper positioned on the downstream side of the stacking surface along the loading direction of the sheet material in the loading part, and a decelerating means installed above the stacking surface between the loading part and the back stopper and mechanically decelerating the sheet material loaded from the loading part. The decelerating means has a cushioning member installed on a falling route at the end of the sheet material. When the end of the loaded seat material abuts on the cushioning member, the cushioning member is moved to the downstream side along the loading direction of the sheet material. When the moved amount exceeds a predetermined one, the cushioning member retreats to a position out of the falling route of the sheet material.
