A stapler driving device has a power supply section which has a motor and an internal mechanism moved by driving force generated by the rotation of the motor and supplies power to the motor of the stapler which implements the stapling operation to insert a staple needle prepared at a preparation position into a bundle made of a plurality of overlapped recording medium sheets by the movement of the internal mechanism to bend the needle and to send a next staple needle to the preparation position, a measurement section for measuring an idling implementation time actually spent for the implementation of an idling operation in which the internal mechanism moves similarly as in the time of the staple operation by the rotation of the motor in a vacant state of the preparation position, and a supplied power control section for making the power supply section supply power corresponding to the idling implementation time toward the motor during the implementation of the stapling operation.
