To provide the stator of a rotary electric machine capable of assembled at low cost with high precision even when it is up-sized in an axial direction.
A stator 12 composing a rotary electric machine 10 is divided into two divided stators, a first and a second stator parts 28 and 32, in which a plurality of steel plates 50 are laminated in a thickness direction. When the first and second stator parts 28 and 32 are accommodated and fixed inside of a housing 16, a first gap 64 having a predetermined interval in an axial direction is provided between one end surface 54 of the first stator part 28 and the other end surface 56 of the second stator part 28 facing the first stator part 28. The first gap 64 is set so as to be almost equal to or larger than the maximum value of the accumulation allowance of thickness size of the steel plate 50 in the first stator part 28.
