Title:
SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY WITH RESIDENT OUTPUT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3122060
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the speed for starting up main output and to improve efficiency by closing a switch for dummy resistor when a DC-DC converter starts operating and at the same time opening it when the converter stops operating using a switching circuit.
SOLUTION: In a circuit, a switch Tr1 for a dummy resistor RD is connected in series with a dummy resistor RD between the terminals of a smoothing capacitor C1, a switch rla is fumed on when RCC operates and a coil RL receives a remote on signal from a load, a switch Tr1 is turned off and a main output mode is selected, and resident output and main output are supplied. On the other hand, when the coil RL receives a remote off signal, the switch Tr1 is formed off and a resident output mode is set to turn off the switch rla, and only resident output is supplied and at the same time main output is stopped. However, the residual charge of the smoothing capacitor C1 cannot be consumed due to the switch Tr1 for dummy resistor RD, thus speeding up the start of main output and improving efficiency.
