Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord capable of improving durability with enhanced permeability of rubber, and a pneumatic tire with use of the steel cord.SOLUTION: In a pneumatic tire, a steel cord 10 having one to three core strands 11 and six to nine sheath strands 12 twisted together around the core strands 11 is used as reinforcement cord. Each of the strands 11 comprises two core filaments 11c and n (n=7 to 8) sheath filaments 11s. Each of the strands 12 comprises two core filaments 12c and n' (n'=3 to 6) sheath filaments 12s. In the strand 12, the sheath filaments 12s have a core filament coverage of 80% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
