Title:
STEEL FOR MACHINE STRUCTURE WITH SUPERIOR ROLLING FATIGUE STRENGTH AND SMALL ANISOTROPY IN MECHANICAL PROPERTY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5852457
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a steel for a machine structure with superior rolling fatigue strength and small anisotropy in the mechanical properties by adding specified percentages of C, Si, Mn, S, Te, Al, O and N to Fe.

CONSTITUTION: A steel consisting of 0.05W0.60% C, 0.05W2.00% Si, 0.10W2.00% Mn, ≤0.005% S, ≤0.005% Te, 0.010W0.050% Al, ≤0.0012% O, 0.0050W0.0200% N and the balance essentially Fe while satisfying Te%/S%=0.2W2.0 is prepared. The steel may further contain one or more among ≤5.00% Ni, ≤2.00% Cr and ≤1.00% Mo and/or one or more among 0.03W0.20% Nb, 0.03W0.30% V, 0.02W 0.05% Ti and 0.0005W0.0050% B. This steel has small anisotropy and a long life.
