Abstract:
To provide a method capable of accurately predicting the temperature of a steel material in a heating furnace.SOLUTION: The temperature prediction method is applied to a steel material which is discharged from a continuous heating furnace having one or a plurality of axial flow burners arranged so that the central axis of the burners is in the conveying direction of the steel material. The temperature prediction method includes: obtaining a reference overall thermal absorption rate of the steel material when the flame length of the axial flow burner is a reference length at each position in the furnace length direction in the heating furnace; correcting the reference overall thermal absorption rate at each position by the flame length ratio with respect to the reference length; acquiring the ambient temperature in the heating furnace by a plurality of temperature sensors provided apart in the furnace length direction in the heating furnace; and predicting the temperature of the steel material at each position in the furnace length direction in the heating furnace based on the corrected overall heat absorption rate and the acquired furnace temperature. It is preferable that the reference length is the maximum flame length of the axial flow burner.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
