To prevent the phenomenon that, at the time when a steel tube for temperature control is set in a die for being cast in a molding made of cast iron, and the molten metal of the cast iron molding is teemed, carbon in the molten metal of the cast iron is carburized into the steel tube to cause the melting or the like of the steel tube, thus the steel tube is damaged.
Regarding the steel tube for temperature control, an SiO2-containing binder liquid is produced, at least one kind of refractory material flour selected from zircon, fused silica, alumina, mullite and chamotte is mixed into the binder liquid, so as to produce a slurry liquid, and the slurry liquid is applied to the outer surface of a steel tube 2 for temperature control to be cast in a molding made of cast iron, and drying is performed, so as to form a covered film.
