Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel wire for a bearing, which when subjected to wire drawing without being annealed after hot-rolled, exhibits excellent wire drawability and when subjected to spheroidizing annealing, has low hardness after spheroidizing annealing and then can be wire-drawn or cold-forged well and further can achieve higher spheroidizing by the spheroidizing annealing.SOLUTION: The steel wire for a bearing is provided that has a component composition containing, prescribed amount of C, Si, Mn, Cr, P, S, Al, Ti, N and O and the balance iron with inevitable impurities, and has steel structure satisfying all of average pearlite colony size:3.2 μm or less, area percentage of pro-eutectoid cementite in the total structure:2.0% to 5.0% and pearlite nodule size:7.0 μm to 13.5 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
