To achieve a structure that facilitates tuning for allowing a steering wheel to be stably displaced forward during a secondary collision and prevents the lower surface of a vehicle-body-side bracket and the upper surface of a column-side bracket from strongly rubbing against each other so as to suppress the absolute value of a separation load and variations in separation load to a small value.
The device has the following configuration. In a state that the front end edge of an upper surface of a column-side bracket 33a is pressed against the lower surface of a vehicle-body-side bracket 11b on the basis of the moment applied from a steering column to the column-side bracket 33a due to a secondary collision, it is configured to suppress an increase in surface pressure of a contact part between the front end edge of the upper surface and the lower surface of the vehicle-body-side bracket. In order to achieve it, a convex curved surface 58 is formed on the upper surface of the front end of an extension portion 57 formed to an upper plate part 55a of the column-side bracket 33a.
