Abstract:

To provide a steering control system capable of stably controlling steering of an automatic traveling vehicle in increasing and decreasing the speed.

As a means for making the detecting azimuth into high accuracy by a geomagnetic sensor, in order to eliminate the influence of vehicle attitude, it is effective to detect the angle of inclination of the vehicle by an inclination angle sensor, and correct the detecting azimuth according the detection result. An error is angle of inclination detected by the inclination angle sensor is caused by the influence of acceleration generated in increasing and decreasing the speed. The error in inclination angle is corrected according to the acceleration computed from the vehicle speed in an inclination angle correcting part 3012. In an azimuth sensor output correcting part 3011, the detecting azimuth is corrected according to the corrected inclination angle to generate the correct vehicle azimuth not influenced by the acceleration generated in increasing and decreasing the speed of the vehicle, and the following steering control processing is continued. Thus, deviation from traveling path due to mistaking of azimuth in increasing and decreasing the speed is prevented and straight running property of steering control is improved.
