To provide a steering device in which a steering shaft, a crossing transmission part between left and right turning shafts, and a normal rotation-reverse rotation switching mechanism part between the left and right turning shafts are unitized to one unit.
In the steering device, an input bevel gear 16 is provided on a distal end of the steering shaft extending from a steering wheel, output bevel gears 17L, 17R are provided so as to be engaged with this, the bevel gear 17L is fixed to the shaft 12L of the left and right turning shafts 12L, 12R extending from left and right wheels, and the bevel gear 17R is rotatably supported on the shaft 12R. A shifter 24 is spline-fitted to the shaft 12R, and clutch members 25L, 25R rotated with bevel gears 17L, 17R are arranged at both sides of the shifter 24 respectively. The shifter 24 is displaced in an axial direction through a shift member 26 by an actuator 27, and the shifter 24 is clutch-engaged with the clutch member 25L or 25R. Thereby, switching can be performed between the left and right turning shafts normal rotation driving state and the left and right turning shafts reverse rotation state.
