Abstract:
To provide a steering device capable of increasing design flexibility for realizing a desired shock absorbing function.SOLUTION: A steering device 1 comprises: a rack shaft 13 for changing the direction of a steering wheel 18 by movement to an axial direction A; a large-diameter member 60 mounted on an axial end part of the rack shaft 13; a cylindrical rack housing 20 having stopper parts 27 and 28 connected and disconnected along with movement of the large-diameter member 60 and retained so that the rack shaft 13 and the large-diameter member 60 can move in the axial direction A; and an end damper 70 disposed between the large-diameter member 60 and the stopper parts 27 and 28 and absorbing a shock by being sandwiched between the large-diameter member 60 and the stopper parts 27 and 28 in the axial direction A. The end damper 70 includes an elastic member 72 for generating an elastic force by elastic deformation in the axial direction A and a viscous member 74 for generating a larger damping force as a relative velocity to the axial direction A that the large-diameter member 60 and the stopper parts 27 and 28 approach each other is larger.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
