PURPOSE: To finish a step part of special shaped cross section member to right angle without cutting as well as not generating tucking defect.

CONSTITUTION: In a method to finish the step part of special shaped cross section member made of metal or alloy, the part to be stepped is formed to a taper shape, with using a pressurizing roller 35, in which a tip face 39 is raised for a pressurizing face 37 at about right angle and the corner between the pressurizing face 37 and tip face 39 is rounded, as the roller is travered by the prescribed pitch, the taper part is pressed down to be finished to right angle.
