Abstract:
PURPOSE:To suddenly decrease the speed of a car in a state of emergency by setting the switching speed to the speed reducing side of a movable sheave higher than the switching speed to the speed increasing side. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder 86 is connected to a movable sheave 81 of a stepless speed change gear. A partition wall 85 is formed in the cylinder 86 to divide the interior of the cylinder into two chambers. One chamber is used as a speed increasing pressure chamber S-1, and the other chamber is used as a speed decreasing pressure chamber S-2. Pressure pipelines 86a, 86b connected to a fluid pump P are connected to the pressure chambers S-1, S-2, respectively through a directional control valve 87. The pressure receiving areas of the pressure chambers S-1, S-2 are set in such a manner that the pressure receiving area of the speed decreasing pressure chamber S-2 is smaller than that of the chamber S-1. Therefore, even if a fluid of the same pressure is supplied to the pressure chamber S-1, S-2, the operating speed at the time of speed reduction can be made higher.
