To provide an IP system stereoscopic image display device constituted so that the resolution of a stereoscopic image formed at a different position in an optical axis direction may not be deteriorated.
The stereoscopic image display device 1 includes: a display means 11 for displaying an element image group; a projection lens (projection lens system) 12 for projecting light emitted from the element image group; a projection optical system 13 having a focus at the principle position of the projection lens 12; a mirror group 16 with a plurality of micromirrors (mirrors) for reflecting the light emitted from the projection optical system 13; an element optical lens group 15 arranged on the optical path of the light from the projection optical system 13 to the mirror group 16 and on the optical path of the reflected light of the mirror group 16, wherein a plurality of element optical lenses (element optical lens system) L, L, ... for condensing the light from respective points of the element image are arrayed on one and the same plane. The micromirrors are arranged at different positions in the optical axis direction so that the light made incident on respective micromirrors from respective points of the element image may be condensed to a stereoscopic image forming position.
