Title:
STEROSCOPIC VIDEO DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6271394
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a polarizing element and decrease its size of depth by letting a spectator see the picture displayed in a liquid crystal displaying means with a pair of optical glasses made of polarizing filters. CONSTITUTION:The light (a) from a light source passes through the polarizing filter 1c, and is polarized for zero degrees and supplied to a liquid crystal plate 1a. This light is polarized for ninety degrees by the voltage impressed to the plate 1a, or passes being polarized for zero degrees, and reaches a polarizing filter 1b. Then the light is polarized for ninety degrees or just passes a liquid crystal polarizing element 2 made of the liquid crystal sandwitched by glass plates having a transparent electrode, depending on whether a voltage is impressed to the liquid crystal or not. The light then reaches the polarizing films 3a and 3b of the spectator's glasses whose angle of polarizing differs by ninety degrees. The lights (d) and (e) passing through the said films 3a and 3b respectively enters the left and right eyes 4a and 4b of the spectator. These lights (d) and (e) are controlled by the liquid crystal polarizing element 2 to obtain a stereoscopic picture.
