To conduct stitch-laying treatment enabling stitch transferring to smoothly being conducted without stitch contraction due to the movement of a yarn carrier by forming a new stitch through a latching an end stitch or a stitch adjacent to it and plural stitches with a same knitting needle and also making the next stitch to be subjected to stitch-laying be held with a needle bed located at the opposed position.

Stitch-laying treatment is conducted by repeating the following operations: superimposing an end stitch L20 held by an end knitting needle in a back needle bed on a stitch L10 held by a front knitting needle F2; latching the two stitches L20, L10 with the same knitting needle F2 to form a double stitch; knitting two new stitches in a state that the double stitch and the next stitch to be subjected to stitch-laying are held on respective needle beds different from each other; and forming a double stitch by latching the two new stitches with the same knitting needle F2.
