PURPOSE: To uniformize a pressing force and realize the sure catch of even a rugged woven texture in a device having a hand for pressing the woven texture with the tip to catch the woven texture by divinding the pressing part of the hand into a plurality of portions to elastically support the woven texture the respective pressing portions.

CONSTITUTION: In a needle piercing device 1 for piercing a needle while hooking up a woven texture 3 as a previous process of sewing on the woven texture 3, the woven texture 3 is placed on a guide stand 4 and fed in by a predetermined amount with the rotation of a feed roller 5 to be guided to the positions of first and second hands 6, 7 below a stitch locating devce 2. The respective hands 6, 7 are controllably shifted by locating mechanisms 8, 9 to press the woven texture 3 and regulate the movement of the guide stand 4. Then, a pressing part 11 at the tip of the hand 6 is divided into a plurality of protions supported vertically movably to a hand body 16 by a L-shaped leaf spring 17. Thus, the respective pressing portions 11 are displaced following up the irregularties of the woven texture 3 so that a pressing force against the woven texture 3 is maintained constant.
