To provide a stoneware tile capable of keeping, for a relatively long time, the temperature decline of a tile surface when water is sprinkled in the state that sunlight shines down upon a veranda, a terrace or the like for a long time especially in summer.
The stoneware tile is obtained by burning, the tile has through-holes which are thin and long in a plate thickness direction, and the volume of pores formed by the through-hole near the center inside the tile is larger than the volume of pores formed by the through-hole near the surface of the tile. Even when the tile is utilized on a veranda floor or a terrace floor whose surface temperature is to be elevated to 50°C or higher in summer, the surface temperature is effectively lowered by sprinkling water and the lowered state is maintained for a long time.
