To provide a storage system configured to accurately evaluate a failure risk of a storage drive having a flash memory as a storage medium, and a control method thereof.MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM: In a storage system, a RAID group includes a plurality of storage drives each having a flash memory as a storage medium. The storage system is configured to: apply operation log of the storage drive to a first model; apply operation log of a peripheral device to a second model; obtain a first prediction value for predicting a failure of the storage drive on the basis of the first model; and obtain a second prediction value for predicting a failure of the peripheral device on the basis of the second model.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
