To provide a storage type hot water supply system in which even if an auxiliary heat source machine fails, hot water can be prevented surely from being exhausted, the storage type hot water supply system being configured to perform a hot water storage operation based on a predictive value of a thermal load demand.
When an auxiliary heat source machine is normal (YES in S1), a pre-boiling operation based on a predictive value of required heat is executed and when heat shortage occurs actually, the auxiliary heat source machine is operated (S2). When the auxiliary heat source machine is not normal (NO in S1), the pre-boiling operation is executed based on failure-time required heat which is obtained by adding heat corresponding to a maximum value from among past operation results of the auxiliary heat source machine to the predictive value of the required heat (S4, NO in S5, S6). When the required heat during the failure exceeds maximum hot water storage heat of a hot water storage tank (YES in S5, S7), an addition boil increasing operation is performed by actually dealing with the exceeding heat.
