Title:
STRAIGHTENING METHOD FOR CURVED WOOD AND DEVICE THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3162682
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a straight plate stock by a method wherein the warpage of a curved wood is efficiently corrected in a short period of time by repeatingly applying the repeated bending operation to a curved wood.
SOLUTION: Both the ends 2 and 2 in the curved direction of a curved wood 1 are placed as supporting fulcra on a supporting means without being fixed to the supporting means so as to strike a near middle part, which is the apex of the projecting part of a side plate material, from inside to outside with a hammer 3, which is connected to a vertically moving means so as to be driven. As a result, the side plate material warps until the nearly same depth as the height of the projecting part of the curved part is realized in the opposite direction to the curved direction. A wood restores its warpage by loading due to the properties as an elastic body intrinsic to the wood itself. At this time, since the wood, both the ends of which are not fixed to the supporting means, only placed on the supporting means, the wood deforms freely by the stress of itself and by a given load. Accordingly, through the repetition of the warpage by the given load and the spring back of the wood itself, an original straight plate material is restored.
