To provide a strainer in which a filter element is simply replaced by the fingers without using any special tool and from which a liquid is not leaked to the outside at the time of replacement.

This strainer is provided with: a hollow strainer body 2 having a supply port 2a where a fluid is flown in, a discharge port 2b where the flown-in fluid is discharged, a branch part 2c which is formed midway from the supply port to the discharge port and where an opening is formed at its tip end, and the filter element 4 which is disposed in the branch part and filters the fluid flowing from the supply port to discharge port; and a lid 3 detachably disposed in the branch part and closing the opening. The branch part is screwed with one screw 2f. The lid has a lid part 3a closing the opening, and a shaft part 3b with the other screw 3e screwed to the one screw 2f threaded to the outer periphery, and accommodating one end of the filter element. An O-ring 5 abutting on the end face 2g of the branch part 2c by screwing the lid 3 is disposed at the lid part 3a.
