Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of time lag, extending from the start of reception to the start of decoding of stream data becomes large, since the decoding is started after the stream data with data quantity equivalent to considerable time is received and stored in a buffer memory on the client side, in the conventional stream distribution method.
SOLUTION: When the reception rate of the stream data to be distributed by transmission/reception equipment on the client side is insufficient for real- time display of the stream data, transmitting destination information regarding the transmission/reception equipment, by which the stream data is transmitted by the transmitting side in the past is requested to the transmitting side; the requested transmitting destination information is received; other transmission/ reception equipment is decided from the transmitting destination information, according to prescribed conditions; and the unreceived stream data is received from such other transmission/reception equipment.
