Abstract:

To provide a Streptomyces species CJPV 975652 which can convert compactin to pravastatin, and a method for producing the pravastatin by utilizing the same.

The method for producing the pravastatin by utilizing the Streptmyces spsecies CJPV 975652 (KCCM-10497), including culturing the Streptmyces sp. CJPV 975652 (KCCM-10497) in a medium containing compactin for recovering the pravastatin, and the Streptmyces sp. CJPV 975652 (KCCM-10497) capable of converting the compactin to the pravastatin are provided. Thereby, it is possible to convert the compactin to the pravastatin in a high efficiency and produce the pravastatin in a high efficiency.
