PURPOSE: To ensure a favorable packaging finish by a method wherein a carrying conveyor is supported to be shakable, and the carrying conveyor is swung in the direction to step aside from an ascending path of an elevator head, synchronizing with the ascent of the elevator head.

CONSTITUTION: A carrying conveyor 16, which is located at a descending position of a vertically movable elevator head 17, and is arranged under a condition in which the carrying conveyor 16 is penetrated by the elevator head 17, and introduces an article to be packaged (a) on the elevator head 17, is equipped. Also, a stopper 21, which stops the article to be packaged (a) at a specified position, is provided on the downstream side of the conveyor, and a packaging unit R, which wraps the article to be packaged (a) on the elevator head 17 by stretch films 25a, 25b when the elevator head 17 is raised, is provided on the top of the elevator head 17. In addition, the carrying conveyor 16 is supported to be shakable, and an operating mechanism 122, which makes the carrying conveyor 16 to swing in the direction to step aside from the ascending path of the elevator head 17, synchronizing with the ascent of the elevator head 17, is provided.
