PURPOSE: To obtain the subject microorganism having remarkably improved mass-productivity and useful as a medium for bio-reactor by fixing a gelatinous substance containing microorganism or enzyme along the outer surface of a string-shaped reinforcing material using a specific method.
CONSTITUTION: A string-shaped reinforcing material 11 is inserted to the center of a tubular form frame 17 and a monomer mixture liquid containing microorganism or enzyme is poured into the space between the form frame 17 and the reinforcing material 11 and polymerized to fix the formed gelatinous substance 13 to the reinforcing material 11. The form frame 17 is shifted relative to the reinforcing material 11 in such a manner as to form an additional space above the form frame 17 and the above monomer mixture liquid is poured into the newly formed space and polymerized to successively fix the gelatinous material 13 to the reinforcing material 11 and obtain the objective microorganism composed of a microorganism or enzyme-containing gelatinous substance 13 immobilized along the outer surface of the string-shaped reinforcing material 11.
