Abstract:

To provide a boot seal structure that controls an outward or inward deformation of a deformer due to a pressure of blow-by gas to a predetermined deformation magnitude, in a boot seal including a bellows-shaped cylindrical deformer disposed so as to cover an interval between a cylinder block and a crankcase of a relative displacement type VCR engine.

The boot seal structure 10 includes the bellows-shaped cylindrical deformer 21 made of an elastically deformable material. The boot seal structure further includes: the cylindrical boot seal 20, one end (cylinder fitting 22) of which being fixed to the cylinder block 1, and the other end (crank fitting 23) of which being fixed to the crankcase 2; and a deformation inhibitor plate 30 (outer side deformation inhibitor plate 31 and outer side deformation inhibitor plate 32) disposed outside or inside the boot seal 20 to control the deformer 21 to deform outwardly or inwardly to the predetermined deformation magnitude.
