To mitigate seizure at a high temperature in a piston integrally comprising a piston body 2 with piston ring grooves 3, a pair of boss portions 4 having a piston pin hole 5 and a skirt portions 6, wherein the skirt portions 6 are provided on both right and left sides between both the bosses, and both the right and left sides of the skirt portions and both the bosses are integrally interconnected by skirt ribs 7 integrally provided to the piston body.
The piston has the structure in which patch plates 8 made of a material having a larger thermal expansion coefficient than that of the piston are secured between the skirt ribs 7 in the skirt portions 6 while curved in an outwardly convex arc shape like the skirt portion when viewed from the axial direction of the piston.
