Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an extended nip press for dewatering especially a belt-like fiber web, having a simplified press shoe and a simplified she bed which can be assembled without relating to a support member.
CONSTITUTION: A shoe bed 15 detachably attached to a support member 10 receives a press shoe 13 and forms a pressure chamber 17. Thereby, the press shoe 13 and the shoe bed 15 together form a piston-cylinder unit. The press shoe 13 is connected to the shoe bed 15 through a connecting element 31, and the connecting element 31 allows the radial movement and inclination movement of the press shoe relative to the shoe bed. The shoe bed 15 and the press shoe 13 can together be detached from the support member 10 and then exchanged by other ones, respectively.
