To provide a suction device for electric vacuum cleaners and an electric vacuum cleaner which upgrade dust collection performances for cleaning wall corners with a small rotary brush by setting the number of revolutions of the small rotary brush properly.

The rotary brush 36 is rotatably installed facing a suction port 40, and a small rotary brush 55 is rotatably installed at the end part of the suction port 40. The rotational speeds of the rotary brush 36 and the small rotary brush 55 are differentiated. The number of revolutions of the small rotary brush 55 is set properly by varying the number of revolutions and that of the rotary brush 36 to enable the upgrading of the dust collection performances for cleaning wall corners with the small rotary brush 55.
