To provide a suction port body capable of surely releasing the locking of an upper cover to the suction port body; and to provide a vacuum cleaner using the same.
This suction port body 10 is provided with a suction port body 11 formed with a suction chamber 19 having an upper-end opening 19a and a suction opening 19b in its upper end and lower end respectively, the upper cover 37 locked to the suction port body 11 by a locking means 44 so as to open/close the upper-end opening 19a of the suction chamber 19, and a connecting pipe 33 provided in the suction port body 11 and communicated with the suction chamber 19. This suction port body is further provided with a locking release means (a pedal 47) operating the locking means 44 by pushing and releasing the locking of the upper cover 37 to the suction port body 11, in the upper cover 37 or the suction port body 11, and a cover energizing means (a coil spring 35) floating the upper cover 37 when releasing the lock.
