Title:
SULFUR TRIOXIDE CONCENTRATION MEASURING INSTRUMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3868260
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sulfur trioxide concentration measuring instrument which can continuously and easily measure the SO3 concentration in an exhaust gas.
SOLUTION: This sulfur trioxide concentration measuring instrument includes a flow passage having an inlet section which guides the exhaust gas from a flue, a heater which heats the exhaust gas in the flow passage to a temperature higher than the dew point of sulfur trioxide, and a filter which removes solid matters from the exhaust gas. This instrument also includes a sucking means which guides the exhaust gas in the flue to the flow passage, a cooling chamber which transforms sulfur trioxide into mist by cooling the exhaust gas passing through the heater and filter to a temperature lower than the dew point of the sulfur trioxide, and an optical particle densitometer which measures the concentration of sulfur trioxide transformed into the mist in the exhaust gas in the cooling chamber. Sulfur trioxide can be transformed into mist by cooling the cooling chamber and diluting the sulfur trioxide by means of a separate dried-gas line connected to the sucking means. The inlet section of the flow passage can also be positioned on the downstream side of the exhaust gas flow in the flue. When a desulfurizing agent is supplied into the flue, an electrical precipitator can be used instead of the filter.
