To prepare the subject preparation having high water resistance and sunscreen activities by including an ultraviolet filter material supporting sulfonic acid group and sulfonate group on a molecular skeleton, and a specific surface active substance.

The objective preparation includes, (A) an ultraviolet filter material supporting sulfonic acid group and sulfonate group on a molecular skeleton (e.g. sodium 2-phenylbenzimidazole-5-sulfonate), and (B) a surface active substance of the formula [(k) is 1-8; R1, R2 and R3 are each H, etc.], (e.g. tetraglyceryl monoisostearate). The preparation includes 0.1-10wt.% component A and 0.005-50wt.% component B based on total weight of the preparation. Preferably, a cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable inorganic pigment (e.g. TiO2) having a surface formed into hydrophobic is included in 0.1-30 wt.% based on the whole weight of the preparation.
