Abstract:
To provide a super-abrasive grindstone reduced in weight, free from rusting, and improved in working precision.
A discoid metal plate 2 is formed by using a molten metal composed essentially of Al and containing, besides Al, 35-50wt.% Si and 0.01-0.3wt.% P, forming this molten metal into hyper-eutectic Al-Si alloy powder containing refined and uniformized primary crystal of Si by an atomizing method, and subjecting this powder to compacting and sintering. Further, the composition of the powder alloy is specified so that it consists of, by weight, 35-50% Si, 1.5-3.5% Cu, 0.1-1.2% Mg, 0.1-0.8% Mn, 0.01-0.3% P, and the balance Al.
