Abstract:
To improve the acceleration response by reducing the pumping loss during acceleration in an engine equipped with an electric supercharger and a turbocharger.SOLUTION: When an engine is operated in a predetermined low load area, a first EGR valve is opened and a second EGR valve is closed so that a low-pressure EGR is executed and a high-pressure EGR is stopped; when an acceleration request to shift from a low load area to a high load side area where turbocharging is required is confirmed, the electric supercharger (motor for supercharge) is driven with the first EGR valve open and the second EGR valve closed; afterward, when the increase rate of accelerator opening is less than the predetermined threshold, the motor for supercharge is stopped and the high-pressure EGR is started by opening the second EGR valve.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
