Abstract:
To provide a superconducting cable capable of storing a large amount of energy, and a power transport system using the same.SOLUTION: In a power transport system, a superconducting cable 12 configured to transport power between a power source 11 with an output changing with time and a load 13 includes energy storage means including: a first superconducting wire material 12a connected between a positive electrode side of the power source 11 and the load 13 and spirally wound at a prescribed angle with respect to a longer direction of a core 14 of a nonmagnetic substance; and a second superconducting wire material 12b connected between a negative electrode side of the power source 11 and the load 13, wound while laminated on the core 14 in a state electrically insulated from the first superconducting wire material 12a and spirally wound at a prescribed angle with respect to the longer direction of the core 14 so as to generate a magnetic field of a same direction as a magnetic field generated when an electric current is conducted to the first superconducting wire material 12a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
