This superconducting element has a substrate (1), lower superconducting electrode (3) formed on the substrate (1), while having an end face inclined to the surface of the substrate, layer insulation film (8), barrier layer (6) formed on the end face of the lower superconducting electrode (3), upper superconducting electrode (4) formed so as to provide lamp edge type Josephson junction with the lower superconducting electrode (3) via the barrier layer (6), and superconducting wiring layer (5) formed with the upper end of the upper superconducting electrode (4) are practically flush with the upper surface of the layer insulating film (8) on the lower superconducting electrode (3).
