Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET ASSEMBLY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3824283
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved superconducting magnet assembly which is not complex and exhibits an improved thermal efficiency and in which the coolant is recondensed.
SOLUTION: A helium-cooled superconducting magnet assembly 1 includes a helium gas recondenser 32 for returning liquid helium to a helium supplying source 6 in a helium container 4. The recondenser 32 is placed upper than the helium supply source 6 in the helium container 4 and is connected to a low temperature cooler 12 in a dual sleeves assembly. During superconducting operation of the magnet assembly 1, thermal joints 13, 38, 22 and 25 can be thermally insulated from the helium and be cut off for the maintenance of the low temperature cooler. The helium gas is recondensed and drops by gravitation to the helium supply source 6.
