To smoothly operate a superconductive motor comprising a squirrel-cage rotor and a stator where a superconductive coil is wound concentratedly, and to increase its torque.
This device is equipped with a motor, in which a stator where a superconductive wire is wound concentratedly to make a primary coil and a rotor which is provided with a cage conductor with a superconductive wire stuck thereto are accommodated in a cooling container, a rotation sensor, which detects the rotational angle of the motor, being attached to the motor, and a motor control means, which supplies the motor with power. The start of the motor is performed by generating an induced current in the cage conductor thereby getting torque by a rotating magnetic field that is generated by the motor control means supplying the primary coil with power. The operation after start of the motor is performed by the motor control means controlling the motor current, according to the rotational angle measured by the rotation sensor.
