To support a drum without causing deflection thereof or eccentricity of a central shaft.
A support device (10) for a metallic thin plate drum is equipped with first support means (41, 48, 49, 50) for supporting one end of the metallic thin plate drum (5) by sandwiching it, and second means (30, 32, 33, 35, 36, 37, 38) for supporting it by adding the force in the direction of expanding the diameter to the inner peripheral surface of the metallic thin plate drum. Since the metallic thin drum is supported at two points, that is, the one end of the metallic thin plate drum is supported and the inner peripheral surface of the metallic thin plate drum is also supported, the deflection due to the own weight of the metallic thin plate drum is not generated, the eccentricity is not generated to the central shaft of the metallic thin plate drum, and the trouble is not caused in cutting operation for the metallic thin plate drum.
