PURPOSE: To draw fine and clear patterns on the surface of a noble metal ring by making a pressure processing to a matte finished part which involves slippage with a cutter tip having a specified high hardness and a roundness of minute diameter, and thereby generating luster patterns.
CONSTITUTION: A processing rod 13 is fitted at the foremost with a cutter tip 14, presses therewith a matte finished surface 3 of the body 1 of a noble metal ring, and destroys by pressure the fine surface unevenness so that a smooth surface 2 is generated. On the surface of the ring body 1, any desired patterns due to this smooth surface 2 are drawn by driving the drive parts 12A, 13A of a three-axis carving machine T. The drive parts 12A, 13A of the machine T are operated according to the processing procedures programmed in advance in conformity to the command from an NC device 100, and the specified patterns are drawn automatically on the surface of the ring body 1. Therein the representation of a surface is given as overlapping of lines, where the feed of the drive part 12A is made precisely by micro-feeding, so that surface patterns free from unevenness are produced.
