Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rust preventing treatment of a metal raw material by which excellent rust preventing property and adhesion property with coating films can be developed without using harmful substances or org. substances which cause an unstable state of the treating bath.
SOLUTION: The surface treatment of metal is carried out by electrolyzing the objective metal as a cathode in an aq. soln., and the soln. contains at least one kind rare earth metal ion selected from yttrium ion, neodymium ion and, praseodymium ion, and sulfate ion and zinc ion, each by ≥0.05/L. The pH of the soln. is controlled to 2 to 7.
