Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject agent with excellent lipid peroxide production inhibitory effect and high safety, useful in e.g. cosmetics, foods, medicaments by including an extract derived from Trichilia cuneata.
SOLUTION: This agent (inhibitor) is obtained by including pref. 0.01-10 wt.%, on a dry basis, of an extract derived from Trichilia cuneata. The extract is afforded by subjecting the dried leaves, stems and/or the like of Trichilia cuneata to extraction with a solvent such as water at normal temperatures or under heating pref. for one hour to one week; wherein the amount of the extraction solvent to be used is pref. 100 pts.wt. based on 5-50 pts.wt. of Trichilia cuneata on a dry basis. It is preferable that this agent is formulated in preparations for external use for skin such as cream and ointment.
