Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method capable of solid-dissolving an element of treatment gas to a surface of an object to be treated without enlarging an apparatus.SOLUTION: A surface treatment method includes: a solid-dissolution step in which nitrogen of ammonia gas as treatment gas is solid-dissolved from a surface of a steel object to be treated that is heated in a room 11 of a treatment chamber 10 while the treatment gas G is flowing in the room 11 of the treatment chamber 10; and a diffusion step in which after the solid-dissolution step, a flow rate of ammonia flowing in the room 11 of the treatment chamber 10 is decreased, and nitrogen solid-dissolved in the surface of the object to be treated is diffused into an inside of the object to be treated. In the surface treatment method, the object to be treated is heated such that a temperature of the object to be treated increases continuously from a timing of starting the solid dissolution step to at least a middle of the diffusion step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
