Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control a shimmy phenomenon, by making hardness in a rubber bush variable according to a car speed when supporting one end of a tension rod, which connects an interspace between a transverse link and a car body, on the car body via the rubber bush.

CONSTITUTION: In case of a suspension which has a tension rod 3 between a transverse link 1 and a bracket 2 locked to the car body side and couples one end of this rod 3 and the bracket 2 together by means of vibro-isolation via a pair of rubber bushes 6 and 7, the rubber bush 6 regulates an axial movement through a receiver seat 9 locked to a tip of the rod 3 with a nut 8. In addition, at the rearward of the rubber bush 7, there is provided with a hydraulic cylinder 10 through which hardness in the rubber bush 7 is made so as to be altered according to size in hydraulic pressure to be fed to the hydraulic cylinder 10 by way of a control valve 19. And, this control valve 19 is to be controlled according to a result for judging whether the detected value of a car speed is within the setting car speed range or not.
