To provide a suturing needle having excellent sharpness and strength.

The suturing needle for surgery is formed to have a needle hilt having a rectangular cross section and a needle head having a triangular needle top. A transitional part between the needle hilt and the needle head is formed to have a ply having a maximum width wider than a width of the needle hilt. A plurality of cutting edges are mounted from the needle top to at least a maximum width partition of the transitional part. After the suturing needle is formed and polished, it is submerged in an acid bath and exposed to an electric field. Lastly, the needle for surgery is heat-treated to improve its strength, and resistance to bending or breakage.
