To improve the design of the interface between a pin and a swash ring for a compressor for making the compressor strong.
A variable displacement compressor includes a shaft 12 which can rotate in a housing. The pin 40 includes a cylindrical far end part 42. A sleeve 22 is slidably attached around the shaft and rotates together with the shaft. A swash ring 30 is rotatably supported by a pair of support pins 32 rotatably engaging with the same. The swash ring includes a spherical pocket 44. A spherical support insert 46 is positioned in a pocket and a far end part of the pin 40 slidably engages with the insert. The swash ring forms adjustable angles with a longitudinal direction axial line of the shaft. An energizing member 28 engages with the sleeve and energizing the sleeve along the shaft.
